Amelia came down with a cold. This is not surprising. We had a busy week and we were around a lot of germs... I mean a lot of kids. Most of them are around the same age and either teething or exploring with their mouths. Everything is fair game for the swapping of saliva jam packed full of immune boosting germs and cooties. Amelia was right in there with the best of them, drooling away and sneezing her spray everywhere... and the cold begins...
The good news is Adam and I have been down this road before. We are experienced parents! We know what to do! Wow! It's nice to be able to say that after 5+ months of figuring out everything as we go along! We quickly pulled out the "snot sucker", I loaded up on vitamin C and force fed extra liquids into our little one. We turned her room into a rain forest oasis by cranking up the little heater at night and humidifying the air with a cool mist...it's heavenly really.
Unfortunately our cold did lead us to cancel a few plans. We had to skip out on the first aid workshop this weekend. This was supposed to get us all set to start introducing foods safely. We threw caution to the wind and gave her a few bites of green avocado today anyway just to celebrate Saint Patty's Day. She was not overly thrilled by this experience and quickly requested a long drink to wash the taste away. We'll try again when she's feeling a little better!
Our week in photos - Enjoy!
