This morning I'm sitting at the kitchen table and watching the first flurries of the winter whipping across the back deck. It's a grey kind of day and it looks cold out. Unaware of the impending cold of her second winter, AMF is wearing a tee shirt and a diaper, running from each of us waving whatever she has in her hand. Toast, her shoe, my shoe, a coaster, a sippy cup firing milk with wild abandon, a purple plastic hollow half moon (which collects slobber perfectly). It doesn't really seem to matter what the item is as long as she can carry it, she will. Recently this has become a typical Saturday for the Fletchers.
I enjoy watching her. It's good to see her improve her motor skills each day, seemingly driven by the need to explore everything and anything. I recently dumped my phone's memory on to the computer and then realize I had duplicated a lot of pictures (future parent note: don't buy an expensive camera, just get a decent phone; much cheaper and convenient). I began to sort through the duplicates and of course got distracted from the original task. We have taken a lot of video. Enough to see the evolution of AMF's gross motor skills as she goes from crawling to walking. I am amazed at the comparison of her earlier mobility to her current state of transition. Have a look for yourselves.

Despite spending most of her time learning to walk, eating and pooping her pants AMF has picked up a few new skills.

And just when we though she was ready for her MENSA application she does this.
